I looked up the Polartec website. They make a huge variety of fabrics for different purposes. Their general use is insulation - heat conservation/ prevention loss. I looked at their "classic" lining (as that's what I'm guessing JE is using, the basic Polartec lining) and its essentially a "high-ted" fleece. The fibers are hollow allowing for better insulation and evaporation of moisture.

As waterproofing goes, I think Polartec stated something about that too. I was mostly referring to the front polyester self. I own the Sail Pullover from S9 and the self is also made out of polyester. Works pretty well as a windbreaker. Though the sail pullover is a bit cropped with no ribbed waist, leaving the bottom of the pullover wrapping over allowing ample room for wind to get through. The Polartec has a ribbed waistband that ensures a snug fit at the waist line.

Anyone know if they are gonna restock more of those? Or any other stockist that might have them in stock? This piece is fire, and I gotta have it!

Still not decided if to go with the maroonxcreme or the olivexgrey. I like the grey polartec a lot more. I can it way better imo. The love front looks good with a grey a and probably would with a black or perhaps even dark navy (but the navy on the halfzop looks super dark) but the marron with the black looks so great. Its just the creme that's killing me.

The black/maroon is nice and was my initial first choice, but cream is not for me, plus the olive and navy is very clean as well.

The entire time I was going to go with the olive. As I gave it some thought I figured I will be wearing the polyester side 80% of the time. The maroon is just unique. There’s a lot of olive out there. Plus I think the maroon will look better with black denim. An olive jacket has long been on my list; but this ain’t it.

And the creme polartec may look good with medium to light denim. Polartec + Dillon Indigo + Sail Vandals = bam

I'm packing today for a work trip, so I had to do this anyway but I haven't actually worn these fits out yet. I feel like these are all different use cases for me which makes the jacket so versatile. I feel like the flash part only comes in when you know the jacket, how much it runs, etc. Here's a few fits, all paired with various JE in something I'd wear throughout the day traveling, or to a daytime event, and finally something a little more evening/dinner appropriate.
