I'm not sure what anyone expected from small shops trying to sell abroad. You don't get those large online retailer discounts. It costs like 30 bucks just to send a small package from NY to Kyoto on first class mail. Anything faster or larger and it's over 100 pretty quick
Its not even fast shipping for 140 though. Its as fast as the cheapest USPS option, but ~70$ more. It'll probably even be finished by USPS for last leg

I agree that it seems padded. Mine is about $65 to ship a mid-weight wool cardigan. I requested an itemized shipping summary. We'll see what I get.

Edit: @peachfuzzmcgee go pick up my **** for me.

Maybe send it to mother in law and she will send it to me but I do remember it costing roughly 100 bucks for me to send like a priority large shipping flat rate box or something.

Although Im sure the are padding out too since sending a 3 week 23 KG box also coats 400 dollars through JP post.

The prices all make zero sense to me

FOR SALE: Clinch Black Overdyed Horsebutt Engineer Boots - Size 9.5 US/10.5 Clinch
Selling my 11" Clinch Black overdyed horsebutt engineers. I purchased these boots from Grailed on December 14th, and never wore them so I am willing to let them go for $1,700, which is what I paid. I will cover shipping within the US.

These boots arrived to me just two days ago, on 12/24/2021, and are unfortunately too large for my feet, which measure size 9 on the Brannock scale. They will be shipped with the original box which states the last as CN-Wide. They are in great condition. Size 9.5 US/10.5 Clinch.

These boots originally belonged to @dublinpremium and were on the CN Wide last. They were purchased from Standard & Strange before being relasted by BrassTokyo on the CN last, for 600€. The results of this exact pair are shown on @brasstokyo_masa Instagram profile, as well as the photos below .

I will also consider trading for a pair of size 9US/10 Clinch black or brown overdyed Horsebutt Engineer boots on the CN last, or a size 8.5 or 9US/9.5 or 10 Clinch black or brown overdyed Yeager Horsebutt boots on the CN last.

Although I am new to this website, my PayPal account has been active since 2005. Please ask any questions you may have, no returns.

Ye
Did he really pay that much money to get it relasted into a super similar last for 600? That is wild as hell.
Yes, but that was to have it relasted by Brass Tokyo. As you know, the CN Wide is wider than the CN (classic narrow) last, which fits better if you’re a true D and/or have a lower instep.

I wouldve just considered it a loss and sold it rather than put more money on top of it. However I ordered a shoe with a CN wide last and I have a feeling it's going to be too big too haha however I probably will just return it to standard and strange instead

Unfortunately 0.5 too big for me.

Located in EU and paid all customs and taxes here. Here for 1650€ net. Shipped with DHL secured, in the US with dhl premium for 5 days delivery.
Have worn them for 6 short lunch walks at home office.

It can be very difficult to obtain a pair of Clinch Engineers, or any other Clinch boot. I’ve been trying for over a year to get a pair in my size, which is why I took a risk with these. I’m guessing he didn’t want to wait a long time to purchase another pair so chose to resole for 600€. The time savings was likely worth paying the extra cost. I understand, as I earned close to $6k during my last 10 hours of work (I’m in sales).

The black overdye engineer boots with black/green outsoles look much better to my eye than the brown overdye boots, although S&S will occasionally stock both in the CN-Wide last. However, I haven’t seen them carry engineers on the CN or CN-S lasts, which for mine, and many other people’s feet, fit better than the CN-Wide last. S&S also charges a restock fee on items over $500. From what I’ve seen over the past year, it’s much more difficult to obtain a pair of Clinch Engineers directly through Brass Tokyo/Clinch than S&S, unless you’re willing to travel to Tokyo and pay the extra 20% fee they charge for in-person sales. That option still puts you on a waitlist for at least a year. In which case, the only shot many will have to get a pair of Clinch Engineers on the CN last is to purchase a pair from S&S and then have Brass Tokyo relast. I’m selling this pair for $250 less than S&S, and they are on the CN last, so someone is going to be happy that they found this opportunity.

I do hope the boots you purchased from S&S on the CN-Wide last fit you well. Which boots and size did you order?

In my opinion the CN wide doesn’t look as good as the CN-S. It’s more round and not that flat.
I already have problems with the instep in the CN-S engineers, yes it seems too big for my feet. But there a lot of people with high instep and wider feet, so the CN wide is made for them.
I’ll just go with CN-S to lace up as they fit perfectly. Engineers might not been made for my feet.

I agree that the CN and CN-S look better than the CN-Wide last. Brass designed his engineer boots to be built on the CN last, to look and feel similar to the lasts that were built in the early 20th century. I’m beginning to think engineers aren’t for my feet either, although they are one of the most stunning boots in existence. I’m going to try and purchase a pair of Yeagers instead. The Yeagers on your photo are beautiful by the way!

Anyone happen to have experience with John Lofgren low quarter officer shoes? Looking for something dressier to put in rotation with my Wesco brown HH Hendriks and Attractions brown HH engineers.

Particularly looking for insight into sizing but any general impressions would be appreciated.

To be quite honest I think the clinch engineers are kinda ugly but that's just me. I ordered a pair of the transcontinental boots. They told me the restock fee for a return was like 25 bucks and only if I take a cash refund.

You guys always amaze me, the deals are good for sure but I would never go that out of my way to purchase something and it's crazy that he charges 20 percent extra to do in person sales. That's bonkers considering even for locals it's a pain on the ass to get there. It truly feels no different then having to deal with sneaker apps and stuff to get Hypebeast gear.

I hope the boots I got fit but I didn't even look at the last that hard. I just like badass looking tall boots.
