Watched QoS yesterday. I liked it, maybe not the typical bond but a really good action movie. And boy was that redhead hot, holy ****. Also liked how they did that Kill-the-bond-chick-by-drowning-her-in-oil kind of Goldfinger way, nice

Finally saw it last night. I thought it was quite good. I'd say 3 stars out of 4. SPOILERS You kind of have to view it as if it were the second half of Casino Royale (as if together they were one long 4 hour movie.) I like Daniel Craig as James Bond. With this revenge thing out of the way, hopefully they'll make the Bond character a bit more suave and bring back Moneypenny and Q. Olga Kurylenko looked amazing with that tan. Ok, she looks amazing period. I wish at some point in the movie James had got her in the sack though. Another trashed Aston Martin was a tragedy. The main downer: the villain, Greene, was a weak character.

I think they actually trashed two (2!). If I remember correctly one was trashed when being transported to the set (!). A pity.

Well thank God they didn't show that on film or I would have to put QOS in the horror movie catalog rather than action movie.

That makes it three then since I guess you count the AM that makes it through the move also to be trashed, its not pretty when the chase is over...

Would be fun to drive an Aston Martin DBS with 2, 1, or no doors.

SPOILER WARNING:

Although I think everyone has already seen it, I thought I'd put that warning up there.

Did anyone else think it was totally rediculous that the hotel had hydrogen fuel cells all over it, rather than in a big battery bunker? I also thought the scene where they are waiting in the fire to die was a bit weak. Plus the explosion resulting from shooting that hydrogen cell would have killed everyone in the room, so there's another bit of realism gone. It kind of made the whole closing part of the movie comical to me. Also, what the HELL was with the panty shot of the girl who had just being sexually assaulted?! That's not cool!

The only other bone I have to pick with that movie was the jerky action scenes. I'm so sick of them. I know they do it to try and make things look fast paced, but it's just annoying.

I agree...but typical Marc Forster.

" I felt I wanted to tell a story within them that they move like the character, forward, especially with Camille and Bond in a boat sequence, a plane sequence, and then at the end, a fire sequence. Then the technique of the intercutting was something which I wanted to do because I thought it would be more interesting than just purely having action sequences, it was more my sensitivity and storytelling. I felt I wanted to dive further into the pain of Bond to create an emotional texture of Bond to get a little bit more under the skin. I felt I wanted to also go back to specifically like those '70s thrillers. The movie should feel really fast I thought. It should start like a thriller and keep you on the edge of your seat until the last frame, so I started developing the entire movie. When I first came, the producers in a way had a script, but an unfinished one, then I brought Haggis in, and as I brought Haggis in, I was scouting all of the world for locations and chose locations according to what I saw and sort of insert them in the script and just try to make it my vision."

Saw the movie a few days ago. Overall it was a good action film but kind of hard to follow and not so great of a plot. Admittedly, I am biased towards generic South American coups. I can never stand them in movies. I thought the whole point of movie was about revenge, which for Olga's character they did a pretty good job, but for Bond, it was way too anticlimactic. The part about taking the water was a good, realistic idea, and probably being done today in many parts of the world (soon to come to US), however, the execution was quite horrible. I need to watch all the Bond films straight through so I can't really comment on Craig, other than that I think he is a good Bond, he just needs to refine some of those edges. I really like the fact that they don't have crazy, quirky gadgets. Though they are very "Bond", they don't translate to the big screen very well. I also like M quite a bit.

I thought the actions scenes were pretty good. Maybe a little choppy but still entertaining, especially the roof scene.
Cons: The plot was weak and the closing hotel scene somewhat anticlimatic which is what really hurt the film. There was never the sense of impeding doom like say with the airport scene in CR. Also Craig looked like he could crush our out of shape, physically pathetic master villian with but one punch.
True, look at this pic. I had no idea he was the shortest one on set.

He kind of reminds me of the closeted villain from Ocean's 12.
