Stopped by Anthony Aiden in the EV today to try on a few pairs. The Fellini fit me really well, at lot better than I had anticipated. But I wasn’t sold on the new Tempest color (at least for me, they look really good overall). Will wait to see if Rover or a tortoise comes in over the next few months. But really cool specs and very impressed. Possible pair in my future if I can get everything right.

ETA: Anthony was awesome, incredibly helpful and very straightforward in telling me what looked good and didn’t. I would add myself to those whom had previously recommended him.

What? JMM are getting into the bell bottoms business?
Nick Fouquet can go ************. He did a hat for The Rake that looked like something a tramp would wear that was offered at an eye-watering price just coz it was a ‘limited edition’. Pile that on top of the already exuberant pricing of JMMs? Someone will be laughing all the way to the bank.
Not to derail the thread, but I don't mind Nick Fouquet. He certainly fits into the "Southern California Gothic Noir" vibe, and obviously isn't for everyone. There's another hatmaker who lives in the Mohave Desert, Todd Fink, who I really like. He was a skateboarder and lead singer of the Faint who turned hatmaker several years ago. I feel his hats go more naturally with JMM, if you're into that look. He even pre-distresses his hats (with fire, no less). Sometimes he has deals where he does custom at no upcharge. Seriously considering the "Public Opinion" here:

I dig his stuff. There's a certain crowd in Los Angeles that fits really well with his aesthetic. Sort of beach bum, hippie workwear hobo, salty hair type person. It is very "designer tramp." They basically look like Nick himself. Not everyone can pull it off, but those who do look really good.

Also, that upcoming PCH collection sounds like it will be very good. Kind of cool to see a very LA aesthetic become popular.

From what I've seen on IG, the new ones are going to be Aviators.

I'll be very interested to see them, but his metal frames are usually higher priced than the acetate.
I just don't see myself spending $800+ on Aviators.
I welcome him to change my mind though...

Not feelin’ that bro. Looks like a wider brimmed version of that sloppy crap hat Rubinacci seems so attached to!
