Hey guys,

I'm just a regular guy who wants to learn how to dress better.

Really glad to be able to join you guys!
David, learning to up your sartorial game is a worthy pursuit. The way that I see it is that there really is no such thing 'regular guy', we're all individuals and blessed with individual talents, it's about discovery. That said... we guys here at the forum welcome you!

Greetings,

I'm Robert, pleasure to meet you. I've been lurking here since the mid-2000s and felt like this would be a good time to sign up. Something I finally determined sartorially: I don't really like shell cordovan. I don't think it's a bad material, and it can certainly be visually appealing, I even tried to make it work, it's just not for me. Too stiff, heavy (although much of this may be related to the tendency to double sole shell shoes) and not breathable enough for my feet.

Hi, I'm intrigued by your moniker. Aside from Nudie Jeans, what strikes your fancy in denim? Welcome to the forum!

Hi folks. I’ve been an unregistered lurker for about 18 months with increasing frequency of late.

Almost as far back as I can remember, I have enjoyed ‘dressing up’, and putting some effort into choosing and looking after my clothes. But that doesn’t mean I was ever savvy or stylish, something I am only now beginning to work on thanks to SF, a couple of blogs (my favourite is Derek Guy’s) and several books (which I again credit SF with helping me choose).

My main interests lately are dress shoes, sport coats and ties, and I must admit I registered mainly so that I could buy some ties here!

Cheers,
Matt

An unregistered lurker, I'm not sure that's legal? Glad that you see some ties that you'd like to purchase. One can learn much here at no extra cost. Welcome to the forum!

Hello, just another lurker emerging blinking into the sunlight here. I possess an unholy quantity of bags and shoes, and rather more nice coats and jackets than I should for someone living in the lower tropics. Figured it's about time I joined up so that I could participate in various obsession threads. :)
