I know they’re made in Mexico, which is not a dealbreaker for me if the quality is kept high, but I stick with Rios of Mercedes, Lucchese , or Blackjack, so I couldn’t tell you much about them..

I have suits in two weights only 16oz and 8oz. I'd say each gets the same amount of wear, roughly 6 months. While I enjoy the cooler weather for everything, it is a nice treat to wear dat heavy nice drap effect cloth. I'm of Italian ancestry (and Portuguese, thanks 23 and me!) so I pretty much always have dat greasy wet ham look, unfortunately.

I think this is highly dependent on the person and geography/climate.

In NYC, we see both extremes of the temperature range—down to single digits in the winter and up to 100 over the summer. Middle weight fabrics tend to be neither here nor there. The heavy stuff is easily usable 4-6 months of the year depending on your own personal tolerances.

To me, the real conundrum isn’t 16+ oz. cloth, but supposed summer-weight suiting. Truthfully, any suit is a ***** to wear when it’s over 80 degrees outside. No amount of high-twist, open-weave, 8 oz. tissue paper will save you.
