If you have an entire day for Paris, then you can book a day tour combined with a visit to the Louvre.
That's what I did last time and the tour basically covered most of the sights (Sacre Couer, Notre Dame & Eiffel Tower)...lunch was included then was picked up for a conducted tour of the Louvre. Good for a first time intro, rather than having to hassle with cabs/metros, etc.

she had a morning to wander around, then all afternoon was taken by work. Haven't heard from her today, but I'm assuming work turned into a working dinner etc etc. Either that or Etienne is keepin' secrets from me
