How Old Are These Allen Edmonds?

Wow, that late...with typescript like that? And canvass lined? That's odd. Well, then, we can't use canvas lining as a dating indicator, because I've seen AEs from the 70s and 80s (customers having them sent back for refurbishment) that were leather-lined.

FWIW, I have sold early 90s MacNeils w/ Ostendo Cushioned heel. They come with full leather lining though.

1980 seems more like it. The typeface for "Allen Edmonds" on both the shoe and the brochure is completely different than anything I'm used to seeing. Certainly not something they've produced in the 90's or beyond.

I don't feel so bad now.

I'll reiterate: those are awesome looking shoes. I just wish they were a 9D and you were inclined to sell them to me dirt cheap. Shoot.
