How much does a tailor charge for shortening suit jacket sleeves?

$10 seems cheap. $50 seems expensive. I think I normally pay $25 or so - assuming the coat doesn't have functional buttons on the sleeves, in which case the tailor will have to take off the sleeves at the shoulders and shorten from there. That would put you over $60.

Stephen is my tailor too! The last time I saw him, he charged me maybe $30 to shorten jacket sleeves. Yours must be something complex--surgeon's cuffs, perhaps?

My tailor charges about $15. She's not incredible, but I've been very happy with her work.

If you're in the Gburg area go to Kentlands tailor - the guy is good. Charges $25 for sleeves and $40 for the collar

Unless they're functioning it's tough to mess thisone up and it can likely be done by the tailor at the local cleaners for between $15 - $20

I think people are missing the point. It depends on whether he has to take the sleeve up from the shoulder or whether he can get away with taking it up at the cuff. Basically if the amount to take up is so drastic that it makes the button placement look ridiculous, then you'll have to take up at the shoulder. That means he has to detach the shoulder and reattach it...it's very time consuming.

My tailor charges $30 for such work, but that's after a substantial discount. The super high end tailors down here in Orange County, California typically charge around $75 to $50.
