how much do you pay for internet access

Paying 60 or 68 for some mediocre cable from comcast. (12 down with speedboost that only works for the start of a download?)

Especially bad considering from about august to february we were having horrible intermitant issues that made anything like online gaming impossible and often made streaming video difficult...

How do you guys get such good internet? I'm in chicago and don't see any better options. I know if I was in a FiOS area things would be different but my internet here is about the same speed/price as the comcast internet in minneapolis so I assumed it was the same in most places.

Wow. Is the reliability, latency, and overall speed of the evdo access tolerable? I tether with my Blackberry all the time on Verizon's EVDO network, and it's really not all that great for me.

I have 8/2 through Comcast for ~50/mo bundled with my phone and tv.

In NYC:

$60 for 7mb download speed (no phone, no cable). The monopolies around here (and everywhere) are obscene and corrupt. Prices have gone UP, not down. Technology costs should be dropping.

Laws have been passed so some cities can NOT set up free wireless systems. The laws were sponsored and promoted by.. cable companies... and who do you think cozies up with the politicians?

mine comes to around $50-60 a month by the time I am done downloading. Im in Vietnam, so speedwise, welcome to 2001: ...and even that seems a little over optimistic in my opinion. It bounces around a lot.

5100/1000 , and about 30 euro's. getting cable in the same package... Slow for the Netherlands, but enough for me..
