How many of you considered yourself an "existentialist"?

I was a nihilist, but no one cared.
I was a solipsist, but I had no one to talk to.
Now I just go about my business and don't think about things too much.

Man, I'll give anything to be Jewish. I heard in your religion there's no hell. Talk about freedom of actions.

All you really need to give is a piece of foreskin.

In that case, I'll remain non-Jewish.

Well on the other hand christians can't eat owls....Or is it in the more inclusive old testament, can't really remember...Not that I care I'll never join a religion that forbid women from satisfying themselves on golden idols, it would absolutely cripple my parties.

One thing I hate about existentialism is that it says men are basically born with freewill but that there are external forces (god, social boundaries, institutions) that circumscribe one's choices. So what happens if you're truly free-minded? You'll just do as you wish: kill, maraud, pillage, etc and these actions neither represent freedom nor transcendence. Dostoevsky: men free themselves from the shackles of morality only to be chained to basic necessities (lust, greed, etc.) Overall, it's a disappointingly lugubrious philosophy.
