The wife of my old boss bought him a pair. He, being a non-SFer wore them to work one day and all of us had a good laugh. Soon after, they divorced. Pretty sure the pleated jeans were not the cause. But in my own mind, it was.
I small digression, but I have always wondered. If those pants in the picture are pleated, what to you call pants that are pleated(?) all the way down to the end of the leg? In Norwegian we call it "pressed". I'm asking, because whenever people are talking about pleated pants here on the forum, I'm always confused about what they actually mean. The variation with pleats just near the waist is quite uncommon here, but most dress pants are actually "pressed" (i.e. they have a pleat running down the leg, both in the front and the back).
So there an actual folded-over and pressed piece of fabric running all the way down the leg, front and back? Are you sure this isn't a crease?
