The ‘Charade’ or ‘Ipcress File’ style coat is a good look and that looks like a good example, but that is NOT a trench coat.
You are right! I stand corrected.

Are you an X-Man? You have an uncanny ability to read peoples mind through the internet and really get at the heart of their intentions and motivations. That must really come in handy.I agree full windsor almost always looks bad.
But just as bad IMO is the ridiculous double FIH done in a way which exposes the double roll. I’ve never seen this anywhere other than on SF and to me it’s and indicator of sheep mentality - doing something without question that looks crap but is done just coz everyone else is doing it.
Likewise the side by side blades or the longer back blade.
It baffles me why so many grown men who appear to be concerned about their appearance struggle to manage a task that most boys of my generation learned, with a bit of help from their dads or big brothers, when we were in the infants school.
I refer the honourable gentleman to previous posts made by the diminutive @Roycru on this matter. Are you an X-Man? You have an uncanny ability to read peoples mind through the internet and really get at the heart of their intentions and motivations. That must really come in handy.
I tie a double four in hand knot and it has nothing to do with the internet as much as my height and the length of my ties. If I tie a four in hand with the tip of my time ending at my belt, the rear blade is almost always too long. The double four in hand makes the back blade shorter. Despite that, the rear blade is still sometimes too long with a double four in hand knot. So I either have to wear my tie so the front blade is much lower or let the back blade be longer. Lastly, I could buy shorter ties, but I find them harder to come by. This is my reality. Some how, life goes on. Don't assume that people CAN'T do something because they DON'T.

The blunt chop? Yeah, that sounds crazy to me. I have definitely thought about it, but the violence.I refer the honourable gentleman to previous posts made by the diminutive @Roycru on this matter.
@Wild Strawberry Rabbit Nice tie--who makes it?I like to tie full windsor from time to time. I Like it and I don’t consider it ugly.

Like the outfit. Question about the lapel pin. why not put it through the button hole?I think your CU ivy sweater is one of my favorite pieces of garments you sport.
I'm mentally preparing myself for the Friday challenge.

Wonderful look overall. Personal preference, but I'd button the buttons on the shirt collar. As is, less devil-may-care sprezzatura, and more an I-didn't-check-mysel-in-the-mirror-before-leaving look.w o r k i n g / c l a s s
Thank you.Like the outfit. Question about the lapel pin. why not put it through the button hole?
Don't worry. Just stick it in between the two sides of the stitching. Besides, while the fabric of this jacket is more forgiving, you run the risk of leaving a hole in a tighter woven jacket if you puncture the cloth. Said more simply, much less risk using the button hole—the two sides shouldn't be sewn together, so there should be a gap for the pin.Thank you.
Sometimes I do. Sometimes I get nervous about messing up the hole stitching.
