Solid navy knit or grenadine tie would be great.

-DL

You're probably right, but I've worn a navy grenadine with this jacket already and wanted to try something different.

As some who usually likes your fits a bunch this is one of my least favorite.
Perhaps I’m too typical but I think you need much more contrast between the tie and shirt (and SC). The offsetting textures isn’t enough differentiation for my tastes.

I'm glad you usually like what I'm doing. I wanted to try a dark, low contrast look, but concede more contrast would have improved it.

I actually rather like how this looks. I agree that a knit tie would improve it even further.

Thanks! I don't have a navy knit in my collection unfortunately.

I like most of the look, but the dark blue shirt is a bit much.

I knew it wouldn't be for everyone, but without that it wouldn't have been a low contrast look.

While on the subject of Los Angeles (where it's around 77F today) neighborhoods, here's a piece-of-a-person with a fried chicken sandwich and fries at the Alcove Cafe & Bakery on Hillhurst Avenue in the Los Feliz (East Hollywood) neighborhood.

A whole person on Vermont Ave in Los Feliz. Something was being filmed in the building on the right (an old Masonic lodge).

Brooks Brothers tweed jacket, OCBD shirt, tie, and pocket square, Lands' End trousers, and Allen-Edmonds shoes.

While on the subject of locations, some scenes in the "Mad Men" TV series were filmed at the Dresden Restaurant on Vermont Avenue in Los Feliz.

One more Los Feliz picture. Walked past the Vamp Shoe Shop (a ladies shoe store) on Hillhurst Avenue. Looked in the window and saw they were selling "Boy Smells" scented candles.
