Very few check on check fits work; this is an obvious exception.
I think it works because both jacket and pants have the same color check. It's rather interesting to think about actually because the two colors without the check would work fine as well. Perhaps the check being the same color is the trick.

Suit style and fit look great. Might want to consider lengthening the pants. I realize everyone has a difference sense of what is proper pant length, but not having them even brush the vamp of the shoes seems a bit too short.
I would agree with you. Didn’t even pay attention to that in the photo (it may have been the way I’m standing). They normally hit the shoes with no break, as in this photo:

I was going to say the same thing. Additionally, the checks being the same size also helps
