Spring tie weather in Vancouver
Nice look and great use of an orange tie. Keeping my fingers crossed that the nice weather stays and that it doesn't rain buckets when I visit next week.

A not so casual Friday today since I'm wearing a tie. And a suit.

And a shirt.

The look on your face says it all. "Oh dear - not another bad photo of one of my suits on the Noodles thread!"

Today's fit is a little less formal than yesterday's. Still the same iCrap false-colour problem though...shirt is SF regulation-issue pale blue.

should have taken a shoe picture but you guys will have to trust me. they were cordovan alden tassels and looked awesome.

This is good and all, but I'm quite ambivalent about you attaching that picture of me in the right bottom corner. It's both flattering and weirding me out at the same time.

That's a really nice use of an orange tie. Great look overall. Trousers could come up a touch, but if that's how you like them, more power to you.

Thank you! My rule is that as long as there is no break in the back, I can have one break in the front.

Nice look and great use of an orange tie. Keeping my fingers crossed that the nice weather stays and that it doesn't rain buckets when I visit next week.

Thanks a lot! It did rain a bit this week indeed, but the weekend and next week should be nice and sunny. In any case, I bet you are used to some rain from Sweden :)

While we certainly get rain here in Sweden it nowhere near as much as you get in BC, Norway is probably more similar. But I lived two years in Vancouver in the late 90s so I certainly know what to expect....

WIll pile on in a positive way about the use of the orange tie here. Navy suit, orange tie can work really well as it does here. Brighter orange for spring/summer; more subdued (rust!) for F/W.

I have to say, I'm not feeling the monks though. I don't know why, maybe it's just the size of the buckles. I'm finding them distracting. If your trousers were a bit wider at the cuff so as to fall over the shoe more, hinting at the monks, that might be nicer. YMMV.

The only things necessary to avoid the museum guard look are a jacket that fits and brown shoes. Ill fitting jacket + black shoes = security guard. Avoid those two pitfalls and you're in the clear.
