Welcome back, Hal Freeman. Mid-brown suede oxfords go with lots of stuff. I don't know about rules per se, but I think calf belt with suede shoes looks better than the same shade of suede in two different places. As far as pairings, anything but formal suits. In my book, that shade of suede takes the formality of the captoe down enough to go with tweeds, odd jackets, et al.

Thank you for the reply! Good advice! for the mean time, I've just been wearing it with braces. I will concur regarding tweed. Can not wait until it is cold enough to pull out the tweeds. Good to hear from you again.

@Hal Freeman, you asked about brown suede shoes.

Just put them on, go out, lean on things or stand in front of things, have someone take your picture, and don't wear a black belt.

A few examples from between Labor Day 2016 and Memorial Day 2017.

What an interesting video on many, many levels. I don't think this is the best place for your video. This thread is suppose to be about what people are wearing right now, while your video is about items you want to have made in the future among other things. It would be better suited for the Ongoing Bespoke Projects thread. I've enjoyed your previous videos where you talk about the garments you are wearing. This one was misleading.

Side note: I'd recommend you invest in a microphone. Your voice is hard to make out in large and uncarpeted space. Second, you should come up with some kind of nonverbal cues for your videographer. Lastly, you may want to invest in some better lighting. It's difficult to make out some of the fabrics/patterns, books, worksheets, etc that you discussed.

Good luck.

Thanks AAC. All duly noted, very thoughtful and constructive comments.

Piece-of-a-person wearing brown fedora.
Akubra 'Stylemaster'. The accompanying accessories are by Conrad Wu and Berg&Berg. The bottom half completes the fit with mid grey flannels and chocolate brown suede chukkas.

Thank you all for your replies! Some good advice here and good reference material as well. I suppose I'll just do that @Roycru! I'm definitely excited to try some combos my self.

@Marsay. That's a good photo! My shoes look similar
