1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Love the Navy DB suit and the navy/yellow/red tie.

Thanks! Those are some of my favorite pieces.

Also, I'm sure most of you abhor Dapper Day, but I'll be at the Dapper Day Expo tomorrow and Sunday as an invited guest ("expert" on classic/vintage menswear) so if you're in the OC feel free to stop by!

As always, I'll document the festivities and have some pictures up next week. My feet will probably be dead from walking around Disneyland in my thrifted AE's.

Dapper Day Expo? Is this open to the public?

It seems odd that they would go live with the new site when it's clearly not ready for showtime. Two of the most important features of SF IMO like seeing our subscribed threads on the homepage and uploading pics is a chore. Also, only being able to see 20 posts per page with no option to change it, is a little annoying. Hopefully, those things are still being fine tuned.

@gdl203, I saw that you responded to my post about the rise on Eidos trousers, but I couldn't respond because of the forum switch, and now your post seems to have disappeared. Anyway, they were the trousers for the I tried on at your NMWA when I was in NYC a few years ago. They weren't "low" rise, but still too low for me.

About two thirds of the images posted do not display for me and clicking the link gives me a blank page.

^ Where's the glasses? I think of them as integral to your look.

I admire the small number of people who have figured out how to post pictures on the new version of Styleforum.

If anyone who is posting pictures is using an Apple operating system, please let me know how you are doing it. So far, it is impossible for me to post pictures from my iMac Desktop, the way I used to on Styleforum (and still do to Facebook, eBay, and other websites) but which now gets a "File Too Big" on Styleforum.

If the reason Styleforum changed was to improve the Classified section, the reduced number of site users (and viewers) because of the new format may make any improvements to the Classified rather moot if no one looks at the Classified any more.

I assume the reason was to harmonise the mobile and desktop versions of the site. But yeah... perhaps not the best of moves if all the 'improvements' do is add unnecessary layers of UI to basic operations and make it harder for users to navigate the site.

Losing basically all the old photo content is also a bit of a downer. It makes like 90% of the site redundant.

I see. Those are the standard suit trousers. We lengthened the rise on those a bit. But there are also trousers styles (Sal and Lorenzo) from Eidos with much higher rise. In fact, probably the highest rise trousers I've encountered in RTW.

Great jacket timotune--don't think we have seen you wear that before. What's the maker?

My first post in the "new" SF required a new suit. Still find the new layout confusing and there are plenty of images from other posts that I can't see, but hopefully the dust will settle soon and I assume that the team responsible for the new look SF is working to fix bugs.

    Suit: Scavini
    Shirt: Drake's
Tie: Zegna (from the Centennial Collection)
    PS: Poszetka
    Shoes: Carmina

So the folks posting these bigger images, you are using the "image" button? When I click on that, I get a box asking me for a link to the image. Are these images stored somewhere else? Where?

EDIT: Nevermind, I am now seeing another button to "attach file or images" that seems to work better.
