The scarf with that suit looks like "I'm trying too hard". It's too large. I'd either get rid of it or try a smaller one instead.

I was trying very hard. Took me a good 30 minutes to figure out how to work that scarf into the context of a suit.

Also, there is a multiquote function that will allow you to respond to a number of pictures without making individual posts. And in general, it's good form to spoiler (looks like a black quote box in your toolbar) pictures so we don't need to see repeats.

I agree that there are a lot of stripes, but I personally don't think they are fighting.
No B&W, though. navy and white, yes. Navy is very hard to photograph though.
My pose might make you think this suit is full-fitting (although, again, I dont see it), but here are some other photos of the same suit, which shows that it cant be much slimmer.

It's a question of personal taste, of course, It's not that the stripes fight, but I miss another pattern to add more contrast.
Concerning B&W or navy and white, it doesn't matter. I'd just add another color, maybe with the tie. It looks like you just bought that striped tie and wanted to wear it asap. Just a thought.
You're right. The fit shows much better on the two other pics.

I agree that a different tie would be preferable, but today I am required to wear blue and white for other reasons. C'est la vie.

Never heard of a color code out of weddings and funerals. Il y a toujours une première fois.

Noodles: I am thinking Butch might be right (as he usually is) that you might use a little less waist suppression to make your lapels sit more naturally. Also, bigger spread on the collar, and in this instance either a stronger tie (burgundy?) or PS. Or both. But I like it: blue shirt is warmer, and on its own I rather like the tie. Edit: Clags is right; a pattern somewhere: even just a pin dot tie if you want to stay super-conservative.
I get it. I think I am just getting fat.

I can't decide whether I think this worked. Seems like too many right angles. I originally thought to wear a solid grey wool tie, but it was too close in color to the pants. I also considered switching the colors of the tie and square, but a brown tie seemed too matchy. Suggestions appreciated.
Plaid on plaid is pretty much always bad.

Knits. Emblematics. Repps. Big paisleys. Not plaids or neats. Wool solids would be okay, but gray is a bit boring.

Also, is that a gray shirt? That would be an issue.
