The colors work pretty nicely to my eye, but I'm really curious about the trousers. Are the sleeves a touch long, or is that just the position of your arm?

Trousers were zanella grey in color and that jacket I had tailored to show 1/4" shirt cuff with working button holes so probably just the position of my arm.. Its surprisingly difficult to take a good pic like that haha.

Gotta say it - feeling really comfortable in my clothes today. This jacket might have some fit issues, but it sure as hell lets me move in it. And trousers are one of the few RTW pairs I own that have hips cut roomy enough for me...

Wow Holdfast, this is top drawer stuff. It is my favorite post by you to date. Really, really handsome suit!

Thanks! It's my favourite suit too: Ede & Ravenscroft doing what they do best in terms of fabric & style IMO. Traditional English fabric, in a traditional style, done very neatly indeed.

One can divine the passage of time, as well discern which elements of pop culture have withstood said passage, by the re-emergence of Clouseau & Gadget (from mimo) references to the off-white trench, and the absence of Anne Hathaway/Get Smart references.

A few weeks ago, I posted two photos of two sports jackets that I was having re-tailored. Below are the "befores" and the "afters"

The shoulders on both of those don't fit great UC - especially the first one. I would have considered either having the shoulders re-cut if i trusted the tailor ... or not doing anything to them at all and letting them go. Not a fan of the 3 button rendition on the second one. As it stands now they fit decent in the body, but overall it may not be worth the money spent in my eye. I have had to go through that iteration many times and have learnt to just let stuff go if its not going to get me the key things i need in fit (shoulder, chest, lapel width, button height)

Sorry for the some what harsh feedback.

This is the Washington fit jacket from SuitSupply, right? It looks amazing.

If so, is it the version with patch pockets or flap pockets?

The version with patch pockets seems to have bigger lapels.

indeed! washington fit with patch pockets
