I love that cloth Ed, and the styling/fit of the suit are great. I would like the rise to be an inch higher to hide that shirt peeking out from the quarters. Did you ever reveal who made it or is that a secret?

So we should all aspire to dress like people did at some arbitrary point in the past?

There's a big difference between a "deep break" and your pants hanging perfectly straight because they're too short.

Given this is a site that is ABOUT looking good, I just can't get my head around this infatuation with short short upturned pants w/ huge cuffs.

Yet I should be ostracized for not going along with the craziness... OK, fine.

thanks, the pants go a bit higher, probably enough to cover the shirt, although I don't mind/like the way it looks. The problem is that there is an extra inch of belly from when the pants were made :sad: The fit will be "softer" eventually, the fabric is hevay and stiff and has not broken in. MBT for now, but will be revealed.

Tangentially, clothing has always evolved, so I disagree with the notion that because something was a certain way in the 40's (or whenever), that is the way it should be. For what it's worth. The tuxedo didn't exist till the 1880s or something like that.

Why do you keep trying to spread your long pants gospel?

Pools of fabric bunching up at your shoes is not a good look, despite whatever alterations tailor told you otherwise. A clean line looks much better then a broken one.

Ed's pants clearly have a break in them and are by no means too short.

Besides, how else are you going to show off your shoes?

It is a old habit that I carried over from my days in the the military. We would tuck our laces inside our combat boots to keep them from coming loose and it is just something that I continue to do.
