I noticed Sauce mentioned in his waywt thread yesterday that his 5ep X sf were giving him hip flare. Is the cause of this the wearer of the jeans not filling out the top block or is there another reason ? Also does it get worse over time or does washing the jeans settle it down at all

In my case, it's because the top block is a little loose (remember that I sized up because the legs were skinny on me). Whether it will settle down or not depends on how the jeans are cut, and just how loose they are. In my case, they're already starting to settle down a bit, and should be fine once they've softened up a bit.

Sometimes a pair of jeans is just cut for people with birthing hips and it's assumed you'll wear them at your navel (*cough* Sugarcane *cough*), and in those cases, the waist might be fine but your hips still won't fill out the jeans. Then you're pretty much just screwed; either live with it, or buy jeans that are cut differently. This is mostly just a problem with repros and high-rise jeans.
