If you saw how awful he looks every time I come back from the hairdresser, you'd understand. Even if I insist: "Don't cut the bangs too short, a quarter of an inch, tops." before I have a chance to stop the scissors, they are half way up his forehead. And I have tried different stylists, none of them seem to listen, it's as though they all had this idea of how a little boy should look, and their minds don't register that I actually want some hair left on his head. No, I don't want an outlandish haircut, I simply want a sensible haircut with a little style if at all possible. As to the question raised about bullies, he attends a school where everyone is very different from everyone else, lots of foreigners, many languages spoken, so if you're "bland", you're actually out of the norm for that school. In the meantime, I found a cute hairstyle and will take him to my stylist. She usually listens. It will be more expensive, but it's worth it at this point.

The last haircut upset him some, as the bangs were really far too short. I don't believe he has an interest in choosing a particular hairstyle, but he knows when he is made to look bad. He's a keen observer and has a sense of style, mostly clothes. He does care about what he wears, and notices what we wear. There's no hiding a new piece of clothing from him. If I style my hair differently, he will comment.

Sounds like he may be looking to start posting here pretty soon! Please give us a couple of weeks warning first so we can purge some of our more salacious threads and get used to being on good behavior, ok?
