Gun Club Check(?) SC

Hello all,

First time poster here. I recently purchased this sport coat on eBay. It'll be my first Brooks Brothers and first SC over $40(ebay and clearance are the usual way for me)

I've read on some of the threads here this isn't a true gun club check because it's houndstooth and not regular checks, but I am mostly wondering what color combinations would go with this coat? You'll note it has green and yellow in it. I'm hoping this will make a good spring/summer coat. My initial thoughts are a light blue shirt and deep red tie, as used on the mannequin, but does that conflict with the green and yellow? Perhaps swapping out the red tie for a deep green? Would mid gray wool pants be appropriate? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
