If you're tight on money, my suggestion would be to start looking at stores which cater to younger people (maybe Urban Outfitters). The quality may not be top notch, but it will be at least as good as that neutered JCP jacket. And the design and fit will likely be far better.

Shirt jackets pop up all the time on that site, often costing a little over $100.

Also, if you can afford to splurge on one garment, the jacket is the one on which to do it.

Ebay is a way to go and you can also try thrift stores. Baracuta style harrington jackets are classic and have been copied by everybody. You might luck out and find a decent version for a few bucks. I have a Lacoste version that I'm selling. PM me if you want some info.
