Thanks cypi2 for your answer. I am now debating myself whether to get a 8.5 F uk or a 9 EUk, but in any of those cases I am sure I will feel safe. I also have a high instep and a wid-ish ball in the right foot, that is why I need to wear 9 uk in Rain. Like you, I prefer a shorter profile (8.5 uk), but with the thick socks I wear with boots I think I will feel better wearing a 9 E uk. Cheers!!

All feet are different, but, based on your description of your feet (I too have a high instep and a wider right foot than the left at the ball, and this has tricked me a few times), I think that you are right in saying that you will be safe with either UK 8.5 F or UK 9 E.

Does sizing of GG for Paul Stuart differ from GG itself? The reason I ask is that the Paul Stuart site says to go up 1 full size from UK to US but I think most of us would say sizing from UK to US is only a half size up in GG e.g. 9/9.5 not 9/10.

Anyone have experience with GG for Paul Stuart who can comment on sizing?

I bought a pair recently and it was the standard half size difference and they are fine.

@bsarosi it may be worth asking GG directly what width they supply as “standard” for PS. For example, GG did a run at Harrods where the Harrods “standard” stock width was a GG F, not GG E. I don’t have any experience with PS, but when I was speaking with the folks at the Savile Row store they said it was fairly standard practice for a retailer to specify what width they want to do their standard run in, and doesn’t always align to what the manufacturer deems standard. It may be worth seeing if you can check what PS’s stance is.

No need to ask G&G. On the Paul Stuart site it is clearly stated that the shoes are "E" widths

pretty sure it's E, though better ask (via calling them) if it's truly UK size on website, sometimes the guys on the floor mess things up

i would not trust that sizing from PS.....GG is half size down from US size on all pairs I own.

GG is half size down, and the shoes has the correct label, it's how they label in their online system, which is unclear whether it's their supposed US or UK sizing, that's why best to call the floor SA, at least all the ones I dealt with knows what they're doing...
