1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Let the man try to sell his valuable shoes. The market, specifically buyers, will determine their worth.

Ole' Mean Green and I have established a mutually beneficial partnership...but that's not to say that others are limited to their endless palette of MTO options! Let's just say...I got a couple 'somethin-somethin's in the works if you know what I mean...

Only one resole taking back to the G&G store on Savile Row. These were on a pair of midnight blue Connaughts with standard oak bark soles (I pierced the sole somehow on one shoe). Cost £320 for a resole plus £60 for the toe tips. Took about 6-8 weeks going back to the factory and came back looking brand new.

Very steep in my opinion but these were my first (and favourite) G&Gs. All the reason to get more in the rotation so less resoling :D

This is sound logic. Especially if you are in the market for pre-owned.

Beautiful and well worth it !!! In a near future there will only be a handfull of skill workers able to deliver work like that. Like I said earlier G&G is on its own class !!!

Totally well aware of the Alden shell demand... hence why I've still kept most of my whiskey, cigar, and ravello shoes and boots. In regards to the Derwents... I did get them at discount MANY moons ago. Discounted EG... remember when those happened?

I thought I saw someone say they're charging ~300 euros? To be fair, reasonable is totally different for you and me ;)

So it is your site then? Ok. Well, just a friendly bit of advice so that you don't get any problems with future buyers. You really should say in your listings if the shoes in question are rejects/subs/seconds, or at least show a good photo of the inside of the shoe so that the buyers can see for themselves. Selling subs as "brand new" and for $1300-1500 is really bad form.

    Examples:
    http://thestylerush.com/products/john-lobb-william-ii-boot-in-brown-museum
    http://thestylerush.com/products/brand-new-john-lobb-chambord-ii-in-parisian-brown-museum

Makes me wonder if the "special make up" G&Gs might come from the G&G sample sale...

£400 is about 600 Swiss francs...add another 100 or so shipping...that's more than 3 times what my well respected & highly trained local guy charges...I tested him out on a couple Alden's & C&J's and he did outstanding work.. For such a price difference I'll put my G&G, EG, Cleverley in his capable hands as well...he takes full liability anyways.
