Hey,

What do you all think of the Frye Logan Cap toe boots? I just ordered a pair new for $200. I know, it's best to ask these questions before you place the order, but $200 is a lot off the MSRP of $478. Not sure what I think about them being unlined. Thanks!

It would be nice if you could post a pic so that we can render an informed opinion.

in general, I’m not a big fan of Frye. It’s just not my look. But if you like it, that’s what matters.

I wear a pair of Frye Arkansas boots that I purchased 9 years ago and still going strong on the worst days of winter as beaters. The leather is more comfortable than many pairs of my "better" and much more expensive dress shoes. They do run heavy, so walking may get tiring relatively soon. The "NASA designed" Poron insoles, if they're still marketing that, doesn't really help with comfort.

The leather is still going very strong and they're goodyear welted. Note that they are not waterproof.

The retail price has changed a lot since then, but ~$200 is not bad for a retail on sale price for Frye.

Personally, I think if you need a pair of beaters, you could go for it. If not, then I wouldn't make the purchase because I'm not a fan of the cap, as it doesn't look very elegant, but then again these are work boots. The Arkansas is the same boot but without the toe cap, which looks much better in my opinion.

A more elegant cap toe boot would be EG Galways.. you could take a look and see if that's something that you'd want to purchase one day.

Thanks for the response. I’ll add a pic when I get them.
