I have been influenced by our friend

AAS

so I take this opportunity to show a fit not necessarily characteristic of him but one that works with me

This is by far a better DTO Challenge already than the one last year. Cleav, most excellent, and EFV, absolutely stunning.

Please take this in the spirit of joviality and homage it was intended. I genuinely respect and admire the styles and points of view of all folks DTO'd below.
As last year, I had a helluva time deciding which direction to go with this one. Since 38R threw the gauntlet down, I was tempted to take him on. So I put this together. But then I thought: No. That's not something anyone wants to see. So I thought: Well, how about Southern Style? I could use my new Carmina blue suedes (THANKS, MRJESTER!!), sockless, and could use my messy photo studio as the backdrop. Or along the same lines, maybe Gianni. But neither seemed within my idiom. How about TTO? Nope. My beard's not giant enough. DonC? Nope. I don't have any benches handy. RogerP (note the flash photography)? What about ClarinetP? Well, now we're getting closer. But still not there. WAIT! Saturated green tie on dark blue shirt? Floral PS? Light colored SC that's linen way before Memorial Day? Chinos? I've GOT IT! DOCKERS! DEMMIT! SeaJen did it better than me. Back to the drawing board. Several flashes of inspiration later, I'd arrived at: Clags (note all worsted/untextured except slubby tie): But I couldn't find an adequate doorway or vacant building lot with random walking path. OK, how about RoyCru? NOAP. I don't do it in the face. So... Pliny? Now that's a style that's close to my heart. And no face, too, which is good. But would votes on that basis feel satisfactory? Or would I have felt like I took an 85 MPH fastball, outside and belt high, and blooped it for a base hit? No, what was needed was to take this bull by the horns. Go big or go home. If I'm going down, I'm going down swinging. So here's my official entry.
I was intentionally aiming at OLD Spoo; Loud Spoo.

Very few of my jackets are worsted. But I'd have a love affair with that tie.

Actually, nor is that one. The point I meant to make (and failed) was re: texture.

This is one of the greatest posts I have seen. Kudos to you, good sir. I am honored to be included, but you forgot "poorly photographed and awkwardly hiding gut" in my description.
