Flexibility with ivory dinner jacket?

Next weekend I'm attending a party where the hosts have encouraged guests to "dress up." It's not formal, and I imagine the gamut of appropriate and inappropriate attire will be on display.

My question is, what options do I have for trousers to wear with an ivory shawl collar linen dinner jacket?

Things to consider:

The lapels are self facing.

I plan to wear a semi formal oxford shirt (no studs, regular buttons) and a bow tie.

I do not plan on wearing formal pants or braces (no cummerbund either).

At present I am leaning toward charcoal grey plain front gabardine trousers. Alternatively, I could wear navy, light grey, black, british tan, or olive.

I'm thinking about looking for some linen pants, but a dark color (I'm never been able to wear all white).

I want the ensemble to stand alone without the jacket (unlike black tie), but I would like to wear this jacket.

The party is in Florida and it couldn't be hotter.

Any constructive remarks would be appreciated. Thanks,

TB
