I'd been looking for a slim, navy tie for a while and was going to buy (sort of settle) for an Andrew's Tie from Sisley (Benetton offshoot) when this navy blue Mogador popped up on polo.com for $39 and with a free shipping coupon. Cheaper than the Andrew's and I love Polo ties.

I received it today and noticed some lines in the silk. I'm looking for your help in telling me whether this tie is damaged or if this is natural. I hope it's natural, because if damaged, then I need to return it, and the tie is no longer for sale, so I can't get a replacement.

Thanks.

Can't tell from that pic. My sense is that those diagonal lines do not look like added-value slubs. But I would need to see it more up close.

This is sooo upsetting. I agree it is damaged and can not be worn, but the silk is wonderful and the price was so right. And I'd really been hunting for this kind of tie for a while.

If I call Ralph Lauren, how helpful will their service department be in tracking down a replacement from their stores?
