Here's an incredible deal for a true (1102 Build Date) First Edition YKK Era in Tan with Chestnut Brown Leather. Great condition too

Odd...I saw this go up on ebay the other day. Guess someone must have picked it up in Seattle before this most recent run of limited edition items hit the world wide web.

The Possibles Pouch has been available for some time. All the stuff with fringes on it on that page are items that were available in a previous catalog. I don't know if they were listed on the webite.

Wonder how common these are. Mix of YKK and Talon zippers on a 258 I just picked up. Must have been on the cusp of their transition in the early 2000s. Still no build tag though.

Wow that’s interesting. They are the same gauge zippers, yes? Probably had additional of the 258 front pocket length since it’s unique and ran out of the main compartment as it’s shared among other bags. That’s a really cool/unique feature to the bag.

I think they’re the same size, can’t really tell lol. But good point! Considering the size difference between the tabs, the YKK works well as a main compartment zipper.

Good morning, gentlemen! I'm a new member from the rainforests of eastern Canada (just a bit northeast of Maine). Filson gear I've owned include the medium field bag in Otter Green, the original Pullman in Tan (both sold a few years ago to pay for diapers and formula), the wading jacket and fly fishing strap vest (both, sadly stolen at the end of a fishing trip), the Waterfowl Upland jacket in Otter Green and the extra-long duckbill cap, which have just received their third re-waxing in 15 years. I am not as big a fan of the Bedrock gear, though I did pick up a Down Cruiser Vest in Mossy Oak Bottomland, Front Loading Shooting Shirt and polo shirt at the recent summer sale. The build quality seemed solid enough, I just wish they weren't charging Seattle prices for clothes made in Bangladesh. I do like some of the Bedrock collaborations with other American companies, and I've got a Tenkara Rod Co Sawtooth fly rod in Fillson colors that I've been fishing regularly when the lockdown allows. Oh, and I've got a Heritage Sportsman Bag in green and tan on the way to me because I like the style and I wanted to get another American-made Filson bag while they are still being produced in Seattle.
Since some of you are also interested in pocket knives, I've included a pic of the four I use most often: from top to bottom, they are my "Canadian

razor," a Grohmann mini lockback in rosewood; an early 2000s black-on-black SOG speed-assisted Blink; an early 1980s Parker Benchmade thumb-stud toplock in bone; and a 1980s Haller folding boot knife with rosewood scales, which has the same clean lines as a Parker Desperado but better balance, IMHO. The Grohmann and the Haller ride in a buffalo leather offset sheath with timber rattler inserts.
It's a pleasure to discover a forum for folks who love good gear.

Just a small warning that the tan and orange ones are “seconds”. As a case in point, here is the black twill one ($10 bucks) and the tan and orange one ($5 bucks)

You can probably guess why it’s a second. On a side note, how hung over was the person that put the tag on that way???

I'd love to have an orange and tan, even if it's a second. Sadly, outlet shops don't often agree to ship internationally.
If any of you gents have an orange and tan twill travel tray you'd be willing to part with, please message me... I'd happily pay to have it sent to Canada.

My Morale Patch arrived today so, it’s time for my GoRuck reveal. I went with the GR2 for two reasons. One, I wanted something MiUSA (GR1 is mostly made in Vietnam). Two, I wanted something big enough to fit several days worth in one bag, and with smarter packing, maybe even a week.

With tax I paid nearly $400 for this bag, which was more money then I’ve ever spent on a piece of luggage or garment item. Even my Mackinaw Cruiser was slightly less.

It might surprise some, but I decided against going with the Ranger Green because I didn’t like the way it looked compared to other discontinued Greens. You can see the difference below:

Ranger Green is on the left and I’m not sure what this other Green is called, but if it was still available, I’d choose it in a heartbeat.

I wanted something that gave off a Filson inspired vibe and I think I was successful. It might even develop an interesting patina as well. We shall see. Much like a Filson, even when empty the bag is pretty heavy. My dad picked it up and immediately mentioned that lol.

Now you see why I must get the Talon LTB in Otter Green. I’m being converted to the Dark Side...or shall I say Lite Side. This makes 3 Tan bags in my collection and only one OG (257)

Coyote Brown (More Like Tan)

I’m going to post a packing picture set once I get more acquainted with the layout, but the amount or useful pockets is incredible. Namely the billow stash pouch in the middle section. Here I store my wallet, some cables, pens and sunglasses. It’s super easy to access on the go.

The straps on this bag are going to need time to break in, I’ve never felt something like this before and I really like it. I feel more like a man’s man with this on my shoulders.

I really love the Morale Patch section. It allows me to customize the look at the drop of a hat. This is the one I chose.

I never imagined a simple word like “SURVIVE” would have such a powerful meaning behind it, even if the reference is a comical one (great movie btw). With the life challenges that myself and my family are facing, it’s reminding me to hang in there.

Here’s the scene:

@woodsjw I know you are a fellow GoRuck fan, hope you see my new purchase, I know we spoke before about it when I first considered one last year.

I like the interior stitched label, those that know it’s a GoRuck know. That’s why I went with this company, like Filson, there’s a great community behind it.

The handgrip is one of if not the best I’ve ever handled. It’s very strong but comfortable. Zippers are YKK 10 and insanely tough. Also there’s a stiff storm flap over all of the zippers to help keep water out.
