Black Gold is a great film. The (inadvertent) product placement is pretty good, too. There's a 'Dean's Beans' bumper sticker that appears in the film and I ended up ordering from them. Very reasonably priced and quite tasty. I'm buying locally now, but I can definitely recomend Dean's Beans. The film also makes you want to never buy commecial again. Starbucks gets pretty annoying after this film -- it's amazing how little 'fair trade' coffee they buy and how much they advertise the (few) beans they buy. Nonetheless, there's a new movement afoot called 'direct trade' which the purveyors, such as Intellgentsia, argue is beyond and better than 'fair trade'. I can't argue with Intelli's beans, they're delicious.

The DVD is already out. It's just that it's been put out independently, so maybe netflix hasn't picked it up. You could send them an email, but I haven't had any luck with emails sent to them. Anyway, if you want your own copy:

http://www.blackgoldmovie.com/

That link will send you through California Newsreel.
