Nah. Too crisp.

"Let me look for the villain up on this catwalk, so you can all admire my perfectly clean and pressed white gabardines. I have ten more in Wardrobe in case the take goes badly."

If you’re referring to pierce Brosnan that’s precisely the reason I like it...dat slick brioni look. Tbf i grew up with him as bond so kinda biased

No-- Roger Moore. Never saw a Brosnan film all the way through.

Oddly, Moore was one of Ian Fleming's first choices, back when he'd been doing The Saint. I think Fleming liked the idea of a bland, slightly mediocre upper-class guy doing important things. Like-- I don't know-- him, perhaps. It was only after Connery was chosen that he put a bit more grit and Scottish heritage into his protagonist.

Even without that, Connery (and the pre-70s-bling Moore) made more sense than the later guys. I mean, Bond would introduce himself as a civil servant, or a navy guy. Boring, adequate but not extravagant means, a few odd hobbies. It wasn't until after the first 4 or 5 films that everyone on screen would know him as the world-famous secret agent.

Got that Trumpian squint going. He actually looks pretty good in that one.

His clothes have gotten substantially better since he first started writing. My favorite jacket is the Cotton Double Breasted from Caraceni. I need some more DB's in my life but I don't have an avenue for wearing them on a regular basis.

I actually think the navy cotton you posted is his best BD, but it makes no sense as a functional item (in my opinion).
I keep wanting to pull the trigger on a BD, but then say to myself "where am I going to wear the damn thing?"

If I had some serious cash and serious time I would hit up F. Caraceni. This is his best jacket. I like DBs for casual outings.
