I know it sounds insane to wash a pair of leather shoes, but I have been doing this with my off white sperrys going on 4 years now. The leather comes out looking brand new after every time. I dry in the sun and condition with lexol every couple months. However, The white stiching and the exposed core of the leather where two surfaces meet eventually become darker with dirt and are impossible to get back to a shade that matches the leather. I have a new pair in amaretto, that will hopefully not experience this problem:
However, Im looking at getting moccasins from orvis or other brands, and Im worried that there is a better way to clean boat shoes. Does anyone have any ideas?
