I have a pair of Edward Green Cadogans on a Dainite sole which need new heels. As I've so far never had to take any Dainite-soled shoes to a cobbler, I have a few questions and hope someone more experienced can help:
1. Is there a significant difference in complexity and/or price for re-heeling Dainites vs. regular leather soles?
2. Given that I'd imagine the real benefits of the Dainite sole in terms of sturdiness and weather protection come from the actual sole, not the heel, is it necessary to get Dainite heels or could I slap just any new heels on?
3. Some threads I found on here suggest that there are low quality Dainite knockoffs around, does anyone have a recommendation for a good cobbler who can be trusted to use genuine Dainite? I saw quite a few mentions for Koko's in other threads, are they still the place to go?
Of course I could just go to EG directly, but given that it's just the heels I was hoping to save time & money by going to a local (i.e. London) cobbler.
Thanks for any hints!
