All the talk of Spanish Dacks had me cleaning up these perforated Anniversary Dacks that Paul and I passed by one day, but that I scurried back to buy during the half price sale. But now I see we are going to get 40cm of snow tomorrow, so back in the closet they go.

Dacks by Cheaney. One of the last pairs prior to their bankruptcy.

Matthew Dacks still sells this model, but only in black and oxblood in polished book binder.

I've never been the hugest fan of bicycle toe, but I love this pair. It was one of my first "well made shoes" and bought at only 20% off. I've had them for over 10 years now, and had Quick Cobbler in Vancouver do a full recraft with JR soles and cat paw heels. I suspect these will last into many generations. Great story attached.

An interesting vintage Empire shoe. Canadian brand. Made in England.

Here is a superb pair of early Gold Bonds that are on Ebay right now (no connection). They are my size. Jonesing bad. Glad there is no Seaweed Gin in the house, or these shoes would be mine.

Indeed. Senecas in walnut calf. Comfortable, and goes with suits, dress slacks, or jeans. I wore these at my brother's wedding. He wore AE Fifth Avenues in walnut.

This is an interesting advert from 1955. It indicates that Dacks continued to use the S.E. Dack designation for its top line, even after The Dack family sold primary ownership of the firm in 1948.
