I always had a difficult time buying suits that fit properly. I am now looking into custom suits and shirts. The shirts i go to made to measure at brooks brothers. Any other places i can go for custom shirts? any recommendations of reasonably priced places to get custom suits??

Please advise!

Just avoid the temptation to buy on line, the path is littered with dreadful results.

1. Cego for shirts. See Shirtmaven's listing above.

2. LS Mens Clothes for tailored clothing. You will pay less than 1/2 that what you would have spent at Brooks MTM. As for more exalted establishments, you'll be paying 1/3 of what those places charge.

I have used both Cego and LS, and I recommend them. Carl (Cego) and Izzy (LS) are lovely and honest people.

As for Shirtmaven's recommendation of Mr. Ned, it is also an excellent choice. The pricing is similar to LS. But my personal preference is LS.

Any info on prices and/or pictures of LS's work? I'm assuming it's bespoke and not MTM? If you'd rather PM me, that's cool.

the opening price suits are made through Coppley in Canada.

half canvassed made to measure suit.
has a good modern slim fit.

Izzy works with a few other factories and tailors, but that is your best bet sub $1000

Thanks for that.
Might be making a move to NY, but looking for bespoke. More information is always good, though!
Thanks!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
