I almost went to Rush's opening night but didn't. Other than that, I guess it's a sign of old age, but I'm not worked up about going to concerts. I'd rather go to a small venue and catch a Celtic band from the UK or something relaxing like Portishead.

turned down free black keys tickets. i like them a lot but was just feeling really lazy as the person told me 30minutes before the show started and i was on my way to dinner with the gf. I just am not as excited as i used to be to go to them. Seeing pavement in september though. Contemplating broken social scene tickets but prob won't go

they ALWAYS do. mike is the ultimate fan's performer. he knows that the people who show up are old heads that have followed since AT LEAST prison bound and they play accordingly. i don't care for the additional instrumentation they've added over the years but no matter what, if they play wherever i live, I'll be there.

i even went to see mike do "cheating at solitaire" at the HOB in New Orleans. one of the best shows i've ever seen.

BSS kind of sucks live.

Let's see - I keep missing all the good name bands (so blown about Silver Mt. Zion, heard it was incredible) but have been going to really good local and DIY Baltimore shows. Tomorrow night my friend's bands Pansori and Harwood are playing this warehouse space.

not a concert per se, but if you get the opportunity to go see the "Beyond the Lighted Stage" documentary in theaters, do it. I saw it here in big D and it sold out 2 shows. it's almost like seeing them live. be prepared for the nerds though. We'll be there.

(the interview audio is way rough but the whole scope makes it more than worth the price of admission)
