Wow, tonight's show at Turning Stone was PHENOMENAL. I can't believe how tight this band is...have they ever been this good?

I didn't write the setlist down, but this is what I recall:

Intro (band only)

Time Out of Mind
Black Cow
FM
Bad Sneakers
Hey Nineteen
Haitian Divorce
Two Against Nature
Peg
Dirty Work
Babylon Sisters
I Got the News
Josie
Aja
Green Earrings
Kid Charlemagne

Encores:
Pretzel Logic
Bodhisattva

I don't think that's in the correct order, and I might be missing a song or two. Anywho, the show was great...Donald was spot on and didn't flub a single note. The girls got a lot of love from the audience. They are the hottest backup singers I've ever laid eyes on.

Walter did a hilariously graphic Hey Nineteen story...talked about the "hot button" or something (a G-spot euphemism, it would appear). It was pretty funny and got people on their feet.

Highlights for me were Time Out of Mind, Kid Charlemagne, and Peg. KC was literally perfect, and Peg was about as good as it could ever be. Babylon Sisters definitely deserves an honorable mention...hearing Donald Fagen utter "Drive west on Sunset, to the sea...turn that jungle music down" gave me chills. The band opened really strong and closed even stronger. The crowd was great, too, decent amount of dancing/singing along/grooving in the seats. Overall, well worth the money (except for all of the $$$ I lost in the casino) and 2 hr. drive. I can't wait to see 'em again.

Were you roughly two standard deviations below the mean age of the audience, like I was last summer?

Oh absolutely. There were plenty of drunk yuppies pushing 50 in attendance. On a scale of 1-10, how jealous are you? Muahahahaha.

These are prime hunting grounds for a young college fella like you. Bunch of older gals, out with their buddies, buzzed on wine coolers or whatever is fashionable these days, warm summer nights ........ Just have to be a little discrete cause Mrs. Robinson is not what they like to be called by their buddies.

Ahhh to be in college again

I almost danced with a pretty hot 30-something up in the aisles after a bathroom break. Had I been drunk, I bet I would've done so.

That's my litmus test for the Dan. Kid Charlemagne is pretty complex and if they can nail the solos etc. then i'm a happy boy.

Bad Sneakers without Mike MacDonald? Dirty Work without David Palmer? No Cousin Dupree or Deacon Blues? Just kidding, sounds like a good show. =)

I was praying for Cousin Dupree. The bootlegs of the Y2K tour with Cousin Dupree on the setlist are great.

Cousin Dupree in the Y2K tour was epic. My brother and I were the only eighth graders at that show.

I'm so pissed they're not coming to the Gorge this year. SO PISSED.

Yeah, I guess this is true. "Virtuoso guitarist" definitely isn't on his CV. EDIT: Did you get my PM? Why are you never on AIM.

Seen the Dan several times and I may be in the minority, but to me they are a studio band, first and foremost.

While the live shows are fun, they don't come close to reaching the heights attained by bands that live for the stage like Prince, Bruce etc.

I thought Steely Dan was a studio band, i.e. didn't perform live
