I was involved (just a wee bit) in the acquisition of a part of the NY Stock Exchange (NYSE) by the Nat. Assn. of Securities Dealers (NASD). The running joke was a new company name of NYSE 'n NASD. It didn't pan out that way.

Does anybody remember when World Market used to be called Cost Plus? As I child I used to think that this meant that they had high prices, which I thought was a bad business model.
