As a younger man with an interest in classic and traditional menswear, how do I avoid looking dated or much older than I am?

I've recently taken a much greater interest in classic and menswear and have started incorporating this into personal style and everyday clothing. I'm about to hit my mid twenties, so I feel I'm at risk of looking dated or out of touch and presenting myself much older than I actually am. I still want to a youthful element to how I dress, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

I think you just have to roll with it to a certain extent. There are people who will just think "old man's clothes" whenever they see someone wearing, for example, a tweed jacket or a blazer and smart trousers combo. Don't dress to try and please those people, dress to please yourself, I guess!

People care less than you might think, both in an extremely positive sense (a new watch or shoes isn't going to change your life) or extremely negative (someone might make a joke about it, but not mean it in a bad way).

A person once told me; just aim to act like you're always 35. When you're younger, it doesn't hurt to act bit more mature at times. If you're a bit older, it might sometimes be good to change your way of thinking a little towards a changing environment or take some risk occasionally. You might feel better and the world will reward you for it.

Don't dress like you're 65. That would be weird.

Even though the majority of men are wearing suits there, you'll notice soon that they are using elements that make them stand out: color, accessories, fits, etc. Find the ones that you like and incorporate them into your outfits and you'll immediately see the results.
