Cleaning Stains From Down Clothing

I had a great meal at a chinese restaurant yesterday: actually it was awesome. But, as I expected, I dribbled some oil covered items onto my clothes.

I was wearing a down jacket, very warm, I love it, but yes, the tasty fish and a bit of duck found their way onto my clothing. Can I treat these stains with shout! or some other commercial stain remover, or is this going to affect the down feathers in some way?

Also, when washing in a front load washer, can I use the standard liquid detergent? I understand that some down jackets require a special down cleaner?
