I recently bought a pair of Clark Desert Suede boots in taupe in a 9. I usually wear a 10 in sneakers and I wear a 9.5D in Frye Chukkas so I figured since Clarks run large, I'd buy them even smaller. I think though these are about 1/2 size too big after wearing them around for a few days. Would an insole be the best option to tighten them up? If so, what's a good one to use.

Two questions about these

1) How dark is the brown? I'd like as dark as possible

2) What should I apply to these shoes to protect them (from rain, water etc) that won't change anything about them EXCEPT for making them darker (See #1)
Thanks

I bought a pair of brown suede Clark's DBs about a year ago, but haven't worn them until the other night. I found the footbed as hard as a rock -- do they soften up and get more comfortable with more usage?

Hey, Is there anywhere online where an American can buy the Navy Leather DBs as seen on the www.clarks.co.uk site? They look so sexy that I would even pay the 69 pounds for them or whatever it is, but that site only ships to the UK.
