Hi fellow carminiers, my MTO zip boots arrived yesterday and I thought some of you would be interest in the style since it's not what you typically see from Carmina. I wanted some rugged boots I could wear casually with jeans and I really like how these turned out.
Model 10087, Oscar last and black hatch grain leather from horween.

Nice! How do they fit? Always worry about Chelsea boots not being snug enough. They look really cool.

Woke up to an amazing email this morning saying they could accommodate my order for color 4! Already placed an order for some NST boots on the forest last, natural storm welt and Carmina's commando sole with vintage brass/gold hardware.

They are pretty difficult to put on but once in they fit very good. I have big calves and these fit very good and snug around the leg, I can fit one finger between the leg and the shaft

I’m curious, what was the base model you selected for these in the customization tool?

Can't remember. Just selected a random boot and indicated in the notes section to make the model 10087 instead.

What does Carmina call this leather? I don't seem to recall hatchgrain leather as an option when doing a MTO via their website.

I'm normally pretty patient but I sold a couple of pairs of rubber soled shoes and we've already had something like 3 snow storms this year...I need my new boots purely for practical reasons!
yeah, its around -5°C now here and I'd appreciate the boots now too - I might need to switch to my Red Wings and Jeans :eek:Kirby MTO is getting 3 months old now? Thats quite a margin from the first people getting their shoes from the last event (~2weeks?). I calculated around 8 weeks, just got excited as people here got their shoes so fast..

It's not an option displayed at the web. I saw it in a pair and asked for it via email. They told me they had some of it so i ordered it putting it in the notes section in the cart. It's very similar to utah but I don't know if it's Utah or something else. Somewhere I read they source their hatch grain from Horween in chicago.

I remember @Carmina did a GMTO of wholecut sidezip for reddit last year, which doesn't have any seams compare to yours.

@Carmina how can we MTO that model?

This statement might hold true in some parts of the world, but I have the impression that is rapidly diminishing.

I work in NYC financial district and I see people rocking dark color oxfords with chinos, nice jeans or suits almost every day of the week.

Likewise, the opposite is also true. I had a meeting with a C level person from a large financial institution at the beginning of September and the guy was rocking a Banana Republic suit and wearing black Nike sneakers. My initial impulse was to walk out of the room.

Nowadays, 99.99% of the population does not give a crap on what you have on your feet.

Does not give a crap *about* what you have on your feet...I think we're all thankful that people dont give a crap onto what we have on our feet.

Hi guys -- I suspect this question has been asked and answered, but it's a little tough to navigate through 1800+ pages of posts in this thread...

Is Carmina now purely made to order even for the more popular cap toe models on the Rain (and Forest) last? Seems like every model I try to order online in a US size 9.5 is "in production" with a 45 business day wait. When I e-mailed Carmina to ask, their response seemingly implied that there isn't some ongoing production of a large batch of inventory, rather the 45 day wait is applicable to any order. Was surprised given that I imagine the plain cap toe on the Rain last has to be one of the most popular shoes.
