I have a pair of Detroit pebble grain plain toe bluchers on a regular welt, but Carmina has the Detroit last is use for some longwings with storm welts - so it is a last that can be cranked up and down a bit in formality.

I don't think you are going to see Carmina stock Simpson lasted shoes on a stormwelt.
100% agreed but may I share my Customisation boots on Simpson with stormwelt lol.

I have been told that Carmina includes JR outsoles in all models (very odd statement). Apparently they use Jon Redembach also with Box-Calf leather but the logo is either covered or sanded. As far as I know they only use JR for Shell as the logo appears.

As far as I am aware they only use them on selected models, and when they do use them - the logo is visible - even with calf leather - the image below shows a style they make for us with a JR sole.

Owning countless Carmina shoes and boots I don't think this is true. I can say for sure that my Carmina shoes with JR on the soles when new look different, after wearing look different and wear different, and over time wear more like iron. I would even say the JR soles sound different when walking. So I am reasonably sure the soles without JR are not actually JR they are something less.

Agreed, the JR soles cost more too - and that cost is worked into the retail price.

I’m pretty sure that you were given incorrect intel. Even in the online customization tool, you can select a standard sole or a JR sole, which will cost you more. And I can’t imagine any maker spending time and resources sanding off the JR logo, when every other house uses it as a selling point.

Ha! I certainly have more shoes than any man needs (fightin words, amirite?), but I’ve shaved te ole rotation down to 28! I’m pretty sure I’m a piker compared to y’all! And I mean that with utmost admiration!

Bravo! many thanks, I thought exaclty the same but I wasnt so confident to tell him wrong. They take almost one year to manufacture the JR, it would be a pitty to cover it.

Hey, do you guys think this is normal in a pair that is two and a half years old? I wear them regularly 1-2 times a week during 8 months of the year and treat them well. As you can see the soles show wear but nothing crazy. Heck one of the heel counters is even cracked.
