Horween Shell (cognac), Simpson last :inlove:

These started out a little 'dry'. But after three applications of Reno, and Two coats of Kiwi tan paste wax over the past couple of months they are starting to come along VERY nicely.

If i would owen a wingtip and a monkstrap i'd consider these. But, i feel like these shoes have too much going on with the wingtip and monk strap. The last is awesome but its one of those do one or the other, either the shoe is a monkstrap or a wingtip.

How much does Carmina charge for RTW calf/suede shoes via mail order? boots? Is there any sort of VAT? I think i read it somewhere earlier, but i can't seem to find it.

I bought this boot a couple of weeks ago in the Palma store and i paid 400 euro, so that minus 18% VAT + shipping. Guess VAT reduction and shipping makes it even...

Nice to post some killer boots as my 100 post :D

I'm of two minds. I want to like it more than I actually do. I do own a pair of wingtip monkstraps from Carmina and I like them a lot.

But the proportions and strap arrangement on the model in your picture just doesn't sit quite right for my eye.

Well, on their site (not the e-commerce store), they list a calf skin model that I like, but there's no shell version. Can they still make a shell version of that and charge me MTO premium or is that not even possible? Or should I email Betty?

I'm in need of some advice... I'm thinking of ordering this shoe as MTO, but with one weird request... omitting the toe medallion (for whatever reason, I'm just not a fan of medallions in general). Without the toe medallion, would this shoe look too weird/ugly? Opinions welcome...

So are you thinking of a shoe somewhat like this?

That would make the shoes indistinguishable from regular plaintoes, unless you're not wearing trousers.

Yeah, I'm fine with it looking like a regular plain toe (almost a borderline wholecut look, except for the lacing area design). Just wondering if I'm being an idiot for making such a modification to such a well designed shoe.

It's the Alcudia last and the options are fairly limited (I think there are a total of four models that they make -- not just those on the web store).

So as I understand, cost for US is whatever the listed cost is minus 18%? And shipping is around 30 euro?

Yes. You have everything correct (assuming you're talking about Carmina's web shop), although I think shipping might be 40 euro.
