Hey Styleforum. Long-time lurker looking for some guidance.

I'm living in Taiwan, so Japanese brands are relatively cheap, and much easier to buy than most European or American brands. I'm looking at chinos and a local friend recommended Buzz Rickson's for construction, overall quality, etc.

My question is, which of their models do I go with? There're plenty of them, and I can only tell so much from the BR website photos. I don't want fitted (always looks weird in khakis), but as I understand it, BR chinos can be pretty cavernous. Does anyone know of a Buzz Rickson model that would look good on a twenty-something?

Incidentally, my friend (owns his own jeans shop, very big on all this stuff, so no slouch) recommends the 1942 model. I'm leaning toward the Original Specs. Anyone have experience with these? He says the 42's will "shrink to fit," but I find it hard to believe.
