Let me preface this buy saying I am an extreme noobie when it comes to clothing in general. I work in corporate environment and unfortunately after gaining a couple lbs coupled with a generally outdated collection of clothes I have been in the market to purchase new wool trousers for the office. I generally hate going to the malls and don't like paying retail. I did research over course of a couple of weeks by googling and this website came up early and often with a bunch of great advice/resources. After seeing some of more popular names showed up I purchased a few pairs that were on sale from Neiman Marcus (Zanella, Incotex, Armani). In terms of heavy-ness of the fabric it ranks In that order, with the first two I would characterize as thicker and the last one lighter. The Zanella is fairly heavy with excellent drape and it's probably my favorite of the bunch.

Since that first batch, I've graduated to ordering from some of the websites affiliated on here. My next order that came in were a couple of pairs of incotex both 100% wool and not really like my first pair. They feel more like spring/summer as fabric feels much lighter. You could even see through it a little (similar to the Armani's). There's no chance of seeing through the Zanellas or first pair of Incotex. I am having extreme difficulty from the pictures and descriptions to tell how the thickness/heaviness of the pants are going to be. How can one tell? Is it even possible? What words should I be looking for? Should I just ask the sellers before purchasing? I prefer not to order and return frequently.

Thank you in advance.
