My chocolate lab, who is huge for a female at about 85lbs., is laying in the driveway and the snow covers most of her body.

But she loves it. We got walloped, and it's not even close to done yet.

I heard on the news ERCOT was rolling it in 15-45 minute intervals in Dallas and Austin. My boss in Austin said he was without power around 9'ish this morning. Some people were claiming they were w/o power for several hours. Power companies said there was no infrastructure failure so all blackouts should be from ERCOT. Seems like there has been lots of finger pointing and heads in the sand.

Even San Antonio is considerably colder than Houston.

Last night, during the thickest part of the snow, I decided to walk around my block a few times. The city was so eerily silent. It was like a ghost town, I was the only person I saw the entire 20 or 25 minutes I walked. It was actually kind of beautiful.

I did that walking home from a party last year in NYC. It was so weird to hear absolutely nothing. Makes you wonder how you deal with the noise and congestion on a day to day basis...

Close to 24 inches of snow fell around here with drifts as high as 4 feet. LOL. I thought I moved from Chicago 10 years ago. i must have been dreaming all this time.

Pretty much the entire state is shutdown. What a mess this is going to be when it melts. Floods of 93 anyone?

went out with the kids for a walk to the lake, about 5 minutes. had a lot of fun, snow about 18-20 inches high, but drifts that were 4-6 feet deep. jumped off the roof of our minivan into the sow, all in all, a lot of fun. but I'll tell you, if I had to move the car I'd be fucked - there is no way I can move for a while.
